We at Studio 1867 have always supported local artists through our Giclee Print Service. We have also incorporated art into many of our upholstery and design projects over the years. We have made a very substantial addition to our capabilities earlier this year – by purchasing our own fabric printer and finishing press, and a printer dedicated to wallpapers.
We now have the capability in house to design and print EXACTLY what we want – when we want it, in the amounts we need. We have chosen to work with Mimaki – one of the industries best companies for well designed fabric printing equipment which is also very eco conscious. There is no ink wastage, water usage or high processing involved to give you top quality designer fabrics. Labour to produce your one-of-a-kind fabrics and wallpaper are all local.
We will soon have some samples of custom designed art fabrics and wallpapers available for your own interior decor or clothing projects. Available as pieces or yardage. Or you can have them created into a one-of-a-kind decor item just for you in our workroom. From toss cushions to full upholstery, we have some beautiful choices of fabrics, both natural fiber and high wear polyesters for upholstery.
Current designers we are featuring – Pipi Original and Ruth Elaine. We will be adding more artists to our line in the future.
If you wish to design your own fabric – we can also assist. There is however a minimum 5 yard order at this time, as well as design fees if you need assistance and printing is done when the fabric you choose is next being run. We are not aiming to be an on-demand print shop for fabric at this time, as those already exist elsewhere.
